Carnival Cruise Lines presented St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with a $50,000 check during the ship’s naming ceremony Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Venice, Italy, presided over by godmother Lindsey Wilkerson, left, a former patient of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and now an employee and ambassador of the organization. The donation continues the relationship between Carnival and St. Jude, with the cruise line endeavoring to raise $3 million over a three-year period. Pictured here at the ceremony are (list names). The new 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic sails on its inaugural voyage from Venice this afternoon then launches a summer schedule of seven- to 12-day Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona.
